I've set my next goal as running a 100km run around mid year 2009. The plan is to run the Kep Track from Mundaring Weir to Northam or vice versa. The actual track is only 75km, however if you add in the Railway HeritageTrail from Mundaring to Bellevue and up to Mt Helena through John Forrest, the total run works out to be about 102km. My thoughts are to run it the same weekend as Comrades on 24 May, as that way I can train and be in sync with the WA Comrades crew...however I am open to other dates. I know that will be close to Bunbury, so that may be reason to change it. I mentioned it to Nathan and Coops this morning, and both have indicated they may be keen to run it with me. Obviously the more people the merrier. The good thing about this run is there are taps, toilets and other facilities right along the route...in fact I think the longest between drink stops is about 20km. If it catches on maybe we would do like Comrades and run up one year, and down the next. Here is some info: A Gmap of the route...very rough, and nowhere near accurate, hence it being a few km short, but it gives you the idea. www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2393682A brochure and map of the Kep Track www.keptrack.com.au/Kep%20Map%20%20A4%20Print%20Version.pdfA map of the Railway Heritage Trail: www.mundaringtourism.com.au/RRHTMembersMap2007-2008.pdfThe Kep Track webite: www.keptrack.com.auLet me know if you are interested. Yep, as per our conversation on Saturday Rob I'll probably be up for it. I wouldn't worry too much about the 50k, generally the Comrades crew do it as a final prep run before comrades so if the 100k is on at the same time then it would work out perfectly. The date change for comrades this year will more than likely affect the dates for both the Bunbury 50k and the John Forrest 40 miler, which could likely be a few weeks earlier. If they didn't then the numbers would take a serious hit - especially the 50k.
I'll pencil it in pending my recovery from the Coburg 24hr
18th-19th April - Coburg 24hr 17th May?? - Bunbury 50k (Probably earlier) 24th May Kep track 100 (K100)

Great Nathan. Sounds like the timing may be ok then.

Looks like we may have one runner, possibly two interested in running the 75km. So we don't spread out too much, it may be best to start from Northam, and for the 75km runners to turn south towards Mundaring at Mt Helena, while the 100km runners keep going west to do the loop.

Yep I've been thinking of running this trail as discussed prevously, so as long as training is ok with house building happening I'm in.

Yeah I want to do it too. I've run the last 30 odd K into Northam. It's a nice run. I'd favour either WAFL State game weekend (usually the week after you suggested) or a Sunday run.

Thanks Nathan
Dave, if possible I would like to keep it at Sunday 24 May if we can, as someone from CoolRunning has already applied and been given leave to do the run that weekend..
See post later on. Looks like we'll go for a May 31 race.

I'm with Nathan there, that is a very nice looking website, with pretty user friendly well organised info sections imo.

As someone who is not very computer-savvy, I am very impressed with your website Rob. You obviously have talents other than running.

LOL. Perhaps I should rephrase that to "in addition" to running
