Forgive me but aren't trailbikes the things are destroying the trail!! We finally have the race approved by DEC and if they get wind of us talking about using trailbikes, they will pull that approval out from under us quicker than you can climb goldmine hill :-)
All we need is a good MTB rider who can keep up the pace that's all

How fast is Big Kev? Myself has to be one though epi you should run 15min faster since you've improved your marathon time by roughly (when equating terrain)10 minutes Nathan will be unlikely to run quicker than epi Ok I've missed someone -Duffer is still a chance. He will definitely go sub 3.58

You missed me Last recon run this Sunday November 29. Well it's the last recon run I'm taking out anyways. This covers the more difficult navigation wise second half of the course. We'll be running from the conveyor belt to Dwellingup and return, for about 40km. You can shorten the distance by turning around earlier if you wish. Bring plenty of water, as the forecast is for some reasonably warm weather. Refills will be available at half way in Dwellingup. Meet on Sunday morning at 6:30am at the corner of North Spur Road and Scarp Road: www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3337114

Can't make the recon. run on Sunday, but I'm interested in doing one early Saturday. If anyone else wants to make up a party please post or PM me for contact details. We can go in my car. Happy to do the same 40km section or an alternative if anyone has any particular preference.

hey Brett, A Saturday run would suit me better as well, happy to run "that" route on the 6 inch (last 20k to make 40k out and back) or if you feel like staying local i'd be happy to repeat last Sundays 35k at John Forrest and we can add 5k to make it 40K?? I can do either let me know what you think.

what about a tiny lightweight headlight or hat cam we could have a camera on one of the leading runners, someone mid pack, someone on an aid station, someone at the back of the pack so maybe 4 cameras in all, make it into a documentary, become millionaires just like alby mangles... www.albymangels.com/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alby_MangelsIm keen to try and get to a recon run on saturday or sunday this weekend...saturday might be a better option for me actually... finish work earlier on friday night than I do saturday night...but might be keen for either, depends...

TB, I was hoping to start quite early to get this done before it gets too hot. I also have other commitments back in Perth later in the day. I'm hoping to kick off from the corner of North Spur Road and Scarp Road: www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3337114 at around 5:30. Let me know if you're coming. Brett

Sorry groundpounder and Brett, my day just got too crazily busy with both jobs and driving all over the metro yesterday, stomach upset this morning and I couldnt make it today, but thanks heaps for the info... Sorry geoffa the naughty boy should have been wearing his safari suit? although it looked a bit hot for that, and couldnt be much fun swimming in those things... so that would be idiotic I think. but then again the late Steve Irwin would have been wearing his Safari suit. Alby would not have had to read au.travel.yahoo.com/b/insideourlonelyplanet/83/solo-travel-heaven-or-hell/ though would he? he seemed to have plenty of women to share his adventures with. Of course in the garden of eden, when the need for clothing first came about...God recognised that "it is not good for man to be alone", and so woman was created. Safariiiiiiiiii! ;D

My first intro to Alby. Never heard of him. Thanks for that, TB! Nathan - as regards the trailbike - motorbikes can go wherever cars can go on those tracks - I have been careful to find out about the WA laws and would not go past any white gate (the boundary for all motorized vehicles). And being a trail runner, I hate rutted tracks, too, so I wouldn't be out to wreck those, either The dirt bike/helmet cam idea was a bit of fun, I think. Even if I was allowed on all the trails - who'd want to run a race with the noise and dust of a bike right in front of them! I wouldn't! All that said, I'll still be looking for excuses to ride ;D
