Just got back from a week in Albany (school camp), and only managed to fit in 1 run during the week. Got a touch of the camp lurgy so unfortunately I'll have to give this weekends recon run a miss. Will try for the next one.

Rob, Nigel and Dave had the trails all to themselves yesterday for the Recon run 1 , I showed up at 0720 and put in 2 hrs, better late than never...just...pretty pathetic turn-up IMO hopefully a few more people especially new people at some of the future Recon runs...about 300-400km of driving for me this weekend...and my knee flaring up again, so yeah....but I know I gained something positive from a solid hilly 2hrs worth....
Suzy thanks for keeping us posted of your happenins, hope u go for it in the next few weeks...

Always hard to coordinate Long Runs on the weekend for more than a few people. I'm everyone will be doing recon's at their own time. Heading out for the usual pre-Six Inch run this Sat at North Dandalup, great course, lots of hills but still quite fast.
Happy training

There's another recon run on this Sunday morning. Meet at the corner of Del Park Road and Whittakers Road at North Dandelup at 6:15am. We'll run a point to point, so we will drop a car at the finish of the run. About 30km or so. www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3311683

Hi folks,
I'm back from a holiday and keen to run again at SixInch - pretty sure Clown is now a definite, but I'll leave it to him to confirm.
Really looking forward to getting out there for a trot.

Gee Dave talk about putting the pressure on a guy! I think Dave might be trying to deflect some of the attention off himself :-)

Well perhaps I'm trying to deflect some attention, but it's fair to say I'm not in the same form as last year. I'm guessing 3.40-3.50 for myself. Now Epi on the other hand ran 2.57 this year at City to Surf a tough hilly course, whereas the best I could mangage was 3.06 at the super flat Perth Marathon (where epi also beat me) With 2 Six Inch runs under his belt Epic is firming as outright favourite from Big Kev and myself. Last year TB put my neck out for Craig (Duffer) to chop off by suggesting I was overwhelming favourite. This spured Duffer on to a course record

My prediction is that neither Dave nor myself will win, we will both be easily beaten by a certain first timer
I think if I run exactly the same time as last year I will come 5th (try to guess the four who'll run faster!)
I'm not sure what my form will be like having just returned from a lot of trekking at altitude - whether this will help or hinder my running is yet to be seen!

its all about the greater good and raising the bar ...should be a very interesting battle at the front, I'm intrigued to hear afterwards how it turns out...I think someone who is not running should get on a motorbike/mountainbike/helicopter (being careful not to pace anyone) with a video camera.,..maybe a lead cyclist/trail bike with a video camera... 6 inch on youtube how about that...
