Hey Ism1 if you are up to it you are welcome to come. You will need a camelback or such as there is no water on the trail it normally takes about 3hrs to 3hr 20 depending on how we all feel, I have done big kms this week and i'm racing on Sunday so I will be keeping the pace slow this time. (6.30 pace) Give me a ring on my mobile to let me know if you definatley coming and if you need more info. Emo can you confirm as well so we can wait and make sure everyone has arrived before we go. Looking forward to gettting out and having a run with you guy's. It's been a long time since I've done a long run with more than two people so it'll be great.
In regards to the pacing Mark, I'll have to see how I feel but I may end up running ahead and maybe doing a little more than 30k. My goal for the 40 miler is to improve on last years time of 5:50 which is reasonably quick so I need to bear that in mind during these last few long runs.
Looking forward to running with you again and anyone else who is keen for a run, but make sure you register interest so we don't run off without you.

The pace is negotiable Nate and distance is cool for me if you want to go further, the others can just turn an follow the markers back. The pace was actually for me as I ran 30k at Jarrahdale yesterday at 5.30 pace so I was feeling sorry for myself, as per our other runs the pace always is faster anyway. Lets see how we go, the first big hill will lets us know how we feel!

It's a beautiful hill. Probably one of the best hills to train on around perth without going to the stirlings. Will be good to have you along Emo

A good run on the weekend with good company.
This week I'm looking at going out on Saturday morning again but I'll be heading north from Jarradale along the Munda Biddi. The plan is to do a 3.5-4hr out and back at 40 mile race pace, hopefully covering 40-45k. The northern route is closer to the terrain of the 40 miler with only a few minor hills. Wungong campsite is @ 24km so depending on how I'm going It's possible that I could reach it although I don't think I want to run 48k so will probably turn around earlier. Would be nice to have some company. I'm aiming to run 5min/km for at least 3hrs (hopefully 3 1/2) then ease off for a few km warm down, so it will be a decent clip.
Whatever your pace is I recommend you should get out on this section of the track if you're considering running the 40 miler. With 4 Week to go until the race this is the perfect time to get out on some similar terrain and do a prep run at race pace.
C U out there

I also had an epic long run Sunday morning. Did the course as discussed elsewhere on the board along the Bibbulmun. Started under headlamp and after ~30min emerged atop a hill to a stunning sunrise lit vista of forest covered hills. Good pace despite 3 big climbs (~3K each). Covered in scratches though from the overgrown single track which was about half the 33K!
