Ive finally done it Ive made it into R4YL! wuhoo. see if you can spot me on page 78, in my 14th Bridges funrun...Famous australiawide now, a household name you know is Trailblazer (in my best Strachanie mindset... LOL hahaha)
Dave Kennedy is in there again in the middle of his incredible 223km at Coburg. Also Jane Elton and Claire Walkley finishing the 40 miler this year, Todd Ingraham winning his 5th Bridges 10k, and a few others...

...and also Michael Mezzatesta who won the 5km Bridges Run. Michael, who is coached by Daryl White, also finished 5th in the just completed Perth Marathon in 2:47 - not bad for a first attempt at the distance and considering a leg injury in the last km slowed him down considerably
Cheers ;D ;D

Michael has been running some good times on the track at Masters too...well done to him on a fantastic year so far, stepping up with a 2.47 to be a real contender in his first attempt at the marathon is an outstanding effort!! Steve Monaghetti and Roberto Busi? have had better first marathons I think, but they were already incredible track athletes...makes me think that good track speed can help a lot in running a faster marathon, since Steve, Roberto and Michael have all done well on track and in 5k races, then transferred a lot of that speed into the marathon......one reason why I have been working on my track stuff again this year, in the hope that I can transfer some of that into the marathon...guess its time I went after some track racing/intervals again plus upped the weekly mileage......reminder that a quality sessions approach can help with marathon, and lots of long slow "junk miles" may work but its not the only route to a better marathon...and there is more than one way to run a good marathon.
not sure but I think Michael did well in the Australian Masters too??? awesome efforts from Michael this year!!!
and its fantastic to see WA people getting some coverage in R4YL and in the case of David Kennedy and Courtney Carter (who I believe has moved east) making an impact in the Australian scene not just in WA...
