Good luck people, remember the trick is to keep moving what ever pace just keep moving to the finish, when you feel bad it only means that around the next bend/stretch you will feel better again, JUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD to the better times cos thats what you live for and will rememberabout the run. Break the distance down to small portions DONT think about the big numbers just the small ones. Enjoy every moments it will be a huge achievement what ever happens. Bugger jealous already Run on crew

Also remember Bernadette is running 100km near Edmonton on Saturday...if all goes well, she'll be finishing as we're starting.

Would be great to see you out there TB.
Just heard from Bernadette, and she is having major problems with her knees / calves / shins, so 100k seems unlikely.

d**n it's a shame about Bernadette, I hope she is alright.
As to the Kep - latest weather forecast I saw has it as cloudy with a max of 22. That would be about my ideal running conditions so I hope that comes through. I'm now at that point of excited, happy and nervous all at once.
Thanks to all the well wishers and hope to see you along the way somewhere trailblazer.

news from the inauguarl Kep Ultra; I visited the finish line about 6.30pm, and it appears that Alex Stewart (Navy legend and 7th in a recent Perth Marathon) has won the 103km in about 9hrs 40min (or thereabouts), with Dave Kennedy (sub 3 marathoner, sub 5 hr 6 foot runner, creator of 6 inch and 2 time winner and regular sub 4hr 6 incher) a good second in 10hrs 03min, so some stunning times from the first two! Young Phil Baker (regular hills group legend) finished while I was there in just under 12 hours I think, and the word was that Rob Donkersloot (creator of the Kep Ultra, 40 miler finisher and 6 inch finisher) was still out there slugging it out in the darkness, along with Alex H. from South Africa, and Kevin. Possibly the only female entrant? Fee did well in the 75km, unsure of any other results. Heard there was a long uphill from Clackline and some ups and downs towards the end... Kathy was on hand to take some stunning photos. So look forward to seeing the pics, the official results, and all the race reports in the near future...what a race! !!!

Well I unfortunately was a DNF ( out at 49 km ) which was disappointing. When all is said and done I just wasn't up to it and will have to rethink a few things and come back in better shape and be better prepared next year.
What an awesome event though. Nice scenic and well kept trail, excellent organisation and the level of support and aid was outstanding. Not only were there the aid stations where you could use your own drop bags or use the supplied water, but there were people at at least one of the track intersections and rovers on mountain bikes giving out encouragement and directions on the trail. Couldn't have asked for more, Thanks to everyone involved.
Also a big congratulations to all finishers.

Well the inaugral Kep is over. What a well organised event it was and great to see Rob, race mastermind, come in under 12 and a half hours in his first 100k. Much heartfelt thanks to all Rob's friends who manned aid stations and helped me out when I left my hydration pack in the car (it was supposed to be at 60k). Had another tough day at the office but was happy with my first 100k under 10 hours (9.54 at Gravett rd). Had to really push from the top of the Clackline hill and was glad for the downhill run into Northam. Couldn't help thinking though that we should head up Mt Omello and finish the race up there. Fee put up a great effort to set a female course record of 9.02 for 76k in her first ultra over 50k.
