from www.sixfoot.com/docs/2009results.pdfFirst West australian name on the list this year I recognised from the Hills group is; John "Tracker" Collins 5.11 ...excellent time that!! One of the c-team leaders (and multiple comrade-r) also conquered this tough challenge; Jane Elton 6.39 another c-team regular; Kate Somerville made it past the first water crossing in 2hrs 1min... Well done to all of them! Inspiring stuff...who will make the trek over for this tough 46km challenge in 2010??? Saw that ex world class Triathlete, Jackie Fairweather (nee Gallagher?) did 4.02...in 6 foot this year! Paul Arthur well known top runner 4.30... Milov who Dave and Nathan would remember did 4.45... Carol Baird 5.02 has been to that Coburg track I think that Nathan plans to visit again soon...

The wining time was 3.15 this year a massive course record. The guy registered as Sleep Train which is an alias. I think his real name is ben something. He's a pretty good ironman triathlete but I'd never heard of him. Finished top 20 at Forster a few years back and has PB of 8.59. Interestingly his 5 and 10K times are only 16 and 33 minutes. Crazy considering previous record holder Don Wallace who was about 4th this year aged~45 has run near 6 hours for 100k, or about 2 times 2.44 marathons back to back with a solid sub hour 16k to finish. Apparently ben has done some long trail runs including a 15 hour effort in prep and has finished top 10 previously. His marathon PB is 2.36. Another winner and record holder (2007) was well back in about 10th.

Now if I was that fast, I think I would be putting in my real name.
