Hi Phil, thanks for getting this message board up & running. I am a regular visitor to www.coolrunning.com.au and find it a wealth of information on all things running (and all kinds of other stuff as well)! The drawback is it doesn't have much WA content so hopefully this site will fill that need. So don't be shy folks - post away! ;D

Great initiative this as I have also seen how much the E staters get out of coolrunning. If we can do half as well this should be a great asset to the running community. Good luck with it Phil, getting it known may be half the battle.

Yes - good luck! I hope this takes off. It would be great to have an active WA-based running forum. Just one comment - I'm not sure how the traffic figures stack up, but I think the use of the forum will be greatly increased if the active topics are visible on the front of the WAMC website (rather like Coolrunning).

Way 2 go Phil! I must say also that the WAMC webpage has gone from strength to strength in the last year or two in my opinion, keeps getting better. This is a great move to encourage interaction amongst runners in WA, and runners who want to come and race in WA, or just want to stay in touch..... ;D

Gotta agree with everyone else Phil, great to get something like this up and running for WA runners. Like Suzy I am a contributer to coolrunning (under a different name though) and get envious about the groups of runners that talk about catching up, socialising after runs and just general talk about their particular area. I'm sure we will get a lot of contributors to it with a wealth of information. Have a question about the time its showing messages posted. i posted one at 4.57pm today, but it showed the time as 3.45am. My computer clock seems to be ok.

Phil, would it be possible to have a WAMC rep check this board regularly to provide feedback and answer peoples queries on WAMC matters? Something like Kevin Tiller does for Coolrunning. I think this would be quite helpful.

well i havent been on CR for a few years, but I registered yesterday, and now I'm in one of the running blog teams team E...very interesting...Im pretty excited about it...the CR board is great by the looks of things but I think it would be easy to get lost in a board that size, this board is very much needed and a lot more friendly being still a small forum by comparison, but growing....

I've been thinking about doing one of those blog thingies, but I'm not a real computer whiz like you TB. I'd probably do it for a week or so then lose interest and not update it for ages. Anyway I think people would get bored reading mine - good for bedtime reading ha ha. ;D

Dear Phil, I wonder if a thread about injuries would be of interest to people and also about where running groups are in and around Perth on any given day of the week. RobinK

Yes Robink, I'd find those threads interesting. Perhaps we should just start them up ourselves, as Phil doesn't seem to check in here that often.

Agree RobinK & Suzy, it would be good to have those threads going. I like the idea of knowing where running groups meet etc. Just having read about Pat Carrolls group in Qld, it seems they are well organised running wise as well as socially. But I have no idea if anything like that exists here in WA. Agree Suzy, where is Phil? Pabags
