OK guys this has been up on cool running for awhile but in case you don't go there I'm pleased to announce a 200 mile trail run next Easter on the Munda Biddi trail from Collie to Mundaring.
OK that's a long way but we do have 1 runner starting from a base of 5K to try and get ready for this. You have 54 weeks!!!

I would like to organize a training run in the near future. This is the plan: Run laps of a 3K trail near Rockingham until one reaches 80K. To make things more interesting we could put in $10 each and make it a handicapped time-trial, winner takes the cash. Any takers?

the bit about -a few laps of a 3k trail and -winner takes all cash sounded good, but when i saw 80k and 200 mile, I said to myself, perhaps not...

Handicap thing doesn't bother me- I would be quite happy to run around a trail for however long it takes you to complete 80km and see how far I get in that time. If I am not working or coming off shift I would like to do this.

C'mon Bernadette you know you want to. 3k trail loops are basically not laps at all.
50 miles Handicaps based on 6 Inch finishing times from 2009 or recent marathon time Back markers start at 5am, Dave to start at 9am :-)

Ok send in your half marathon times and I'll work out your handicap. I was thinking this schedule for the upcoming months:
June 6- Kep 100k
Perth Marathon -June 20
July (3-4th)- Cape to Cape (training)
July 31st -Aug 1st - 50 mile handicap (training -cld be moved weekend either side)
City to Surf - Aug 29th
Sept 25th - Dwellingup 100miler (fat-ass)
I was wanting to do the 50 miler through the night. Did I not mention that previously. Friday or Saturday. Start about 6pm all together and work out projected finishtimes. Runner closest or furthest under wins.
Under my sure-fire handicap system I need to run 6.09:36 Man that's fast but I'll use the same system on everyone. Should make for a great race. Runners can record their own times in a clipboard every 3K lap. Bernadette I think you'd enjoy this. Only 27 laps!

My plans keep changing!! Flights are not transferrable so I'll be going to the Nationals in June, which event I do will depend on what training (if any) I can manage between now and then. Anyway what it does mean is that I will be available on July 31st to slaughter Dave in his own race :-)
