Hi, anyone interested to start regular training for this event? am just recovered from a stress fracture to foot but am running around 40km a week with the longest run around 22km at present- speed is only about 5 to 51/2 min per km depending on terrain and distance - would love to train with other women preferably trail runs thru the hills JB

Bernadette The race was designed to mirror the East Coast's Six Foot Track 45K trail race. There is approximately 1000m of total climb and 900m total descent compared to Six Foot's 1500m up and 1700m down. The heat in December can help close the gap somewhat as well as the fact you're pretty much self-supported. Also it's pretty much the toughest point to point course of that distance anywhere near Perth. Looks like you should hook up with bully73! Bully, We're planning a group trail run on Sat 1/8th. Leaving from Mundaring will probably be about 30K but fairly slow.

Bully73 I'm interested in some regular trail runs leading up to 6 Inch. I'm probably a little bit slower than you but it would be good to have some company.

Dave, I'm interested in your Mundaring run. I may not be up to 30k by then but could always turn back earlier.

Hi bully73 (or should I call you JB), I'm planning on doing King of the Mtn on 20/7, maybe I'll see you there? I think Bernadette is running too.

I'm assuming you plan to run in Mundaring on Saturday the 2nd August. The 1st is a Friday!
Of course the Hills group will no doubt be running from Darlington on the same morning so you may even cross paths with them on the morning. As for me, I 'll have to decide whether to run with the hills group, or yourselves, or not at all, too many variables as usual for me to commit...but I may like to come too on the 2nd???

I'm getting confused. I think we need a "regular trail running group" thread to come off this 6 Inch thread - someone started one way back I noticed. Maybe if I put a new post in it it will come up to the forefront again....
As for the 21/Dec 6 Inch race - wow - the elevation sounds serious! And the heat. Yup, that should kick me where it hurts. Can I start that one at midnight??
