 Six Inch 2006
« Thread Started on Jul 3, 2006, 8:13am »

It's on again! Scenic hills and following the white powder to the pub.
Already this year we have interest from the following:
Dave
Nathan
TB
Mark
Peter
Gary (drinks station 2005)(to run)(inspired)
Suzy (possible drinks station 2006)
Ameasffdsgfkyds (how do you spell it?)
Alysha
Dan
Also hoping :
Warren
Cota
And Andrew
will return from last year.
Most of the race is shaded but the course isn't easy. The caveat "For Experienced Runners Only" could well apply.
Be part of WA's first and only offroad marathon in 2006.
Express interest here!

Thanks Michel,
Is that a French name? Good to get some international flavour to the event. Are you aiming to run Rottnest or another Marathon?

Yes I'm french and I'll be attempting the Adelaide marathon at the end of August if all goes well with training, so far so good.

Good Luck Michel,
I just noticed that there was an AURA member signed up for the hosts network over in Adelaide. AURA is the Austalian Ulra Running Association and if you join and then signup for the hosts network you can stay with runners overeast when you go over and have runners stay with you when they visit for local ultras. Just a thought if your not particularly wealthy. It's $45 a year and you get quarterly magazines and also great discounts on airfares if travelling for an ultra ( not sure if a marathon counts) up to 75% off. Anyway that's my Aura plug . Who else is a member out there? I noticed a lot of Perth members signed up for the hosts network, I guess we are have to travel further to the big races so it makes sense.

Kevin Cassidy, editor of Ultramag, is over in WA at the moment and hoping to get out for a run on the 6 Inch course this week.
Start List (first draft)

Nathan
TB
Michel
Mark

I'm sure many more to follow once Rottnest is run!

Assuming I survive Rotto in reasonable shape, you can count me in.

the 6 inch Track Ultra marathon is approx.
45km
with a lot of
elevation
changes

starting with climb up the Darling Range via goldmine hill and then again near Scarp Rd and Oakley Dam...

see my FAQ (frequently asked questions) page @
http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/7549/run6inchfaq.html

where I have just added and updated a few links regarding six-inch...
more exciting info to come from about late October/early November onwards... ;)

Looks like a field of 15 or more
already.....
looking likely with 3 months to go... :D

Yeah I guess if you want to check out the course you will need to get Munda Biddi map 2(b). And we do the run up Goldmine hill as well. (Whittakers Rd)

just thought i would register my intention to run 6-inch again this year. Looking forward to the race this year adn am feeling a little more prepared than last year where i ran 5:25. This year i will hopefully be looking at around 4:00-4:15. Hope to see plenty of others there as well, it really is a great race. I thoroughly recommend getting out and doing some running of the Munda Biddi. It is a great place to do your long runs and incorporates some nice hills as well. C U out there.
